Welcome to the Healing and Support Service
You may be here because you, or someone you love, has been abused or traumatised within the Catholic Church – and it’s time to find out how to heal.
We understand that being abused in a faith-based community can be particularly difficult for some people to recover from. It may raise many feelings of confusion.
We’re here to stand beside you. We understand trauma. We provide support, listening and guidance.
Everything you tell the Healing and Support Service - your story, your trauma, your healing - is confidential.
The abuse that happened to you may have been recent or a long time ago.
It may have been child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church by a priest or other member of the clergy.
It may have been abuse as an adult in a Catholic Church agency, nursing home or hospital.
You may have been hurt by a Catholic school teacher, a carer, or someone else who was meant to look after you, or who employed you.
Whatever your story, we invite you to read about how the Healing and Support Service may be able to help you.
If you are in immediate danger, please call 000 for police or ambulance.
Acknowledgement of Country
In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands in which our diocese sits, the land of the Darug and Gundungurra people.
We would like to pay our respects to the Aboriginal Elders past, present and future for they hold the traditions, memories and wisdom of Mother Earth on which we place our feet upon today.
