Implementing the Child Safe Scheme in New South Wales
In NSW child-related organisations are required to better prevent and respond to child abuse by implementing the Child Safe Standards.
Organisations subject to the Child Safe Scheme are required to implement the Child Safe Standards through their systems, policies and processes. The Scheme’s approach is to encourage ongoing continuous improvement rather than occasional leaps in progress.
Some NSW Government agencies are also required to develop a child safe strategy for their child-related services and those they fund or regulate, called a Child Safe Action Plan.
