All visiting clergy and religious, with and without an ACMR number, who wish to minister in the Diocese of Parramatta must uphold the standards and processes we have put in place to ensure the safety of our community and request permission from the Diocese first.

Frameworks for Leaders and Workers

Are you a ‘worker’ (employee, volunteer, a clergy/religious, contractor or sub-contractor) currently engaged in Diocesan parish/ministry?

Are you required by the parish/ministry to hold a Working with Children Check clearance for the services you provide?

If you can answer “Yes” to the above questions, you are considered a ‘worker’ under the NSW Reportable Conduct Scheme for the purpose of that Scheme.

This means:

You need to understand what an allegation of reportable conduct is.
You are expected to inform your manager/supervisor of any allegation of reportable conduct that you are aware of (or if you cannot inform your manager/supervisor you must inform the Office for Safeguarding Diocese of Parramatta.
As a ‘worker’ the scheme applies to you if you are the subject of an allegation of reportable conduct.
You need to know where to access more information about the process.
